Synopsis: Bridie, an Australian Army nurse, and Sheila, a 15 year old English girl, survived one thousand, two hundred and eighty-seven days of starvation and humiliation as prisoners of the Japanese.

Fifty years later, brought together for the filming of a television documentary, they remember, not only the pain - but moments of heroism, and cunning, and music...

"We forgot our hunger - our boils - barbed wire - everything... Together we made this glorious sound that rose above the camp - above the jungle - above the war - rose and rose and took us with it.  Fifty voices set us free."

This is a warm story of friendship - and selflessness - and finding the truth.
