Leo Bailey is a man of contradictions - a deplorable old inebriate who just happens to be one of Australia’s greatest living national treasures. An acclaimed artist but an abusive, cantankerous bully, Leo has long worn out the welcome of his family and former friends.

Into his life comes Therese, the new live-in carer. Freshly invigorated by a stint in prison, Therese is determined not to let her new job, nor Leo’s scandalous behaviour, get the better of her.
